  • What is the NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance?

NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance will be discussed in this article; keep reading to know what you’re likely to be paid for the 2023 housing census exercise coming in a few months.

NPC applicants have been eager to know what the National Population Commission (NPC) salary structure looks like and what they should expect. So, discussing the salary structure will help the NPC applicants to be aware of the payments, tips or salaries they should envisage after completing their various roles in the forth coming national census exercise.

Some reasons why candidates register for opportunities like this are to get paid, while others enroll to try out new experiences, learn new things, or meet new people in a new environment. Most have in mind getting different connections from places of such great importance. But whatever the reason, the fact remains that you’ll get paid, and that’s why we are discussing the NPC salary structure today.

Without mincing words, we must remember that the NPC is recruiting qualified candidates in a bid to recruit about 2 million ad-hoc staff for the exercise coming up in April 2023.

The National Population Commission (NPC) is the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s main data mining agency and is in charge of gathering, compiling, analyzing, and disseminating information about the country’s population and economy. The Commission is legally authorized to gather, examine, and share population and demographic information across the nation.

With the NPC currently training those that chose the special workforce and facilitator category after releasing the shortlisted candidates’ PDF files, we brought you the NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance structure and breakdown in order to let you know what you’re getting into.

For those that chose categories such as enumerators, supervisors, data quality assistants, and others during registration and still receive “pending” on the NPC website when they check their application status, see why you’re still getting “pending,” and since you are still yet to undergo screening, see the questions and answers that will be asked during the screening, the requirements for the screening and what to expect to increase your chances of getting the job.

If you forgot or lost your NPC application code or access code, read how to retrieve it.

When did the ongoing 2023 NPC ad hoc staff recruitment start?

The National Population Commission (NPC) began the ongoing ad hoc staff 2023 recruitment on October 31, 2022, with the portal still receiving new applications as of today, January 10, 2023.

What is the meaning of ad hoc?

In Latin, ad hoc means “for this,” and in English, it means “for this purpose only”. According to the oldest dictionary publisher in the United States, Merriam-Webster, ad hoc is “formed or used for specific or immediate problems or needs”.

Who are the ad hoc staff NPC is recruiting?

Since the dictionary defines “ad hoc” as being formed for immediate problems, the NPC introduced “ad hoc” staff as just temporary assistants who will only work in the 2023 housing census exercise and will truncate at the end of the process without joining the permanent staff of the commission.

This should be known to all candidates who think the National Population Commission (NPC) employs ad hoc staffs for permanent jobs. Also, so many people are thinking they’ll be retained at the end of the census without understanding the full meaning of “ad hoc staff”.

This is the same thing with the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ad hoc staff recruitment; as soon as the 2023 general elections conclude, all the ad hoc staff will go their separate ways without being retained by the commission.

Even though I have said above that you won’t be retained after the census proper, that doesn’t mean you won’t be lucky and get a permanent job offer, but the chances are very slim.

You should go out there and be serious with the work; who knows, you might get lucky and receive a permanent employment letter. So be properly guided to avoid keeping your hopes high and end up been disappointed.

Is the NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance the same with the permanent staff of the commission?

The answer is a capital no; the NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance is not the same as that of the permanent staff of the commission.

What is the NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance?

The NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance is for everyone that will partake in the housing census exercise this year, and no one is expected to be owed, even though the Nigerian government can be funny sometimes, just like they’re currently owing NPower Batch C Stream 2 beneficiaries since October 2022.

You’re expected to participate fully in the training and fieldwork of the census exercise in order to receive the full NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance, because without your fullest participation, you’ll not be paid as expected.

In June and July 2022, the NPC conducted a trial census in about 7,718 enumerated areas in readiness for this year’s census.

During the trial census, about 10,000 ad hoc staff that were recruited were paid salary and allowances after working for 22 days, 12 days of training and 10 days of fieldwork.

The fieldwork, which was supposed to last for 15 days, was later reduced to 10 days.

During the 12 days of training, participants were paid ₦24,000 as a feeding allowance and ₦48,000 as a training allowance.

For the fieldwork that lasted 10 days instead of the supposed 15 days, those recruited were paid ₦100,000, which is huge, right?

Now, let’s add the money: ₦24,000 + ₦48,000 + ₦100,000 = ₦172,000.

The total of the money is ₦172,000, just for the trial census; how much more for a full census? We’re expecting ₦200,000+ allowance for all ad hoc staff that will partake in this year’s housing census exercise.

We would have told you the exact NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance, but the last time Nigeria conducted a census was 17 years ago in 2006, when they counted roughly 140 million people.

So, expect the NPC adhoc staff salary and allowance to reach ₦200,000+, both for feeding, training and fieldwork.
