The latest NPC news on the shortlisting and training of enumerators, supervisors, field coordinators, data quality assistants and data quality managers is out

The latest NPC news on the shortlisting and training of enumerators, supervisors, field coordinators, data quality assistants and data quality managers has been released by the commission.

Read on to get informed about all you need to know concerning the forthcoming National Population Census that is fast approaching, including the training date, the census date, and who is to be counted during the census exercise.

Information, they say, is power. To be informed and reach your necessary goal, you must learn to devote time to reading in order to become equipped, take hold of every piece of knowledge you will need to see yourself through, and become an information bearer to those around you and also to your world. For many, it seems tedious. But we promise you that it is worth it. Asides reading for particular reasons, information makes you verse, reliable and keeps you ahead of others.

Unfortunately, many candidates today do not want to sit down and source the information they need online; they will rather be spoonfed and prefer asking people to tell them instead of checking it up with their phones on the internet through Google. The date for the NPC training and exercise is out and on the internet, yet most of them do not have the luxury to go search it out for themselves.

According to the NPC, only the training of the specialized workforce and facilitators started on Monday, January 23, 2023.

It is okay to be perturbed as to why your own category is not included among those that will resume by Monday. It doesn’t mean that the initially chosen categories are more important, and it does not also make the later chosen categories less important for the job. It only means that all categories cannot be trained at the same time, and the training will only be done one at a time. Also, the above mentioned categories to initially resume training will be trained inorder to train others.

The enumerators, supervisors, field coordinators, data quality assistants and data quality managers should not worry, because when the training of the specialized workforce and facilitators has concluded, their own will start.

This is so because the specialized workforce and facilitators are those that will train the enumerators, supervisors, field coordinators, data quality assistants and data quality managers in their various local government areas.

So, this only means that if specialized workforce and facilitators training is not concluded, enumerators, supervisors, field coordinators, data quality assistants and data quality managers will not start.

At the moment, some local governments have started screening their enumerators and supervisors. The screening is done for the main purpose of preparation and getting ready in readiness for the training that will be conducted by the specialized workforce and facilitators.

So, candidates are advised not to panic, as there is no cause for alarm.

In times like this, when you are not certain about how the recruitment process is done, all you need to do is to keep checking your email and phones for messages from the NPC about the next step in the recruitment process.

NPC Has Fixed 2023 Census Date

We are aware that the particular and real date for the census exercise has been a thing of concern to candidates, as there have been different rumors regarding when NPC will commence the housing census. We have gotten questions like, “When will the date be out?” I heard that this is the date that was fixed; is that true? and many others. While some other candidates are eager to know when the original date will be in order to know how to schedule their appointments, We are at the moment, here right here with the truth. Read through.

The National Population Commission (NPC) has officially fixed the date for the 2023 national population and housing census.

The census date was announced by the NPC chairman, Nasir Kwarra, after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday.

According to the NPC boss, the 2023 census date has been fixed to commence from March 29 till April 2, 2023.

Kwarra said that the NPC staff and selected ad-hoc staff will be enumerating people from March 29 to April 2.

He said: “This census is going to be different from past censuses.

“The theory and practice is essentially the same, but we’re using high-end technology to conduct this census and it’s such that nobody can tamper with any figure. Nobody will be counted more than once.

“We’re visiting households to do direct interface with the household, collect data and in the past, if you’re doing an operational manually, it’s very cumbersome, but this is being aided by technology and I believe it’s going to be transparent and very fast and it is going to be verifiable because we are able to provide data up to the local government, up to wards level. So it is something that you can always verify.”

Kwarra said that the ad-hoc staff being recruited by the commission will work in their various localities during the census.

The NPC chairman added that foreigners will also be counted when the exercise commences in March.

This statement concerning foreigners being counted during the census exercise has brought clarity to the issue of counting people who are non-Nigerian and residents. It is known that even those who are not Nigerians but who are on the ground and available during the census exercise will be counted and enumerated. On the other hand, those who are Nigerians but are not residents within Nigeria, that is, those who are not in the country as of the time of enumeration, will not be counted. So in essence, only those who are residents of the country during the census period will be counted.

Also note that there is always a section that will ask if you are a foreigner or not and also the country you are from. So these are the things that will be taken note of during the enumeration process.

When an enumerator screened, what next? I have been screened yet my status has not changed from pending.
Who are the quiz questions meant for?
At what stage is an enumerator expected to supply his bank details?
